1. Yes I did find that being part of the hunter college early program better prepared me for my future college career. It helped me figure out how teachers are in college, what the work was actually about and that being tended to was a thing of the past.
2. In my first semester at the college I struggled with Pre-calc first semester I struggled making a passing grade in that class. I tried to overcome that by going to the Math center to try and grasp an understanding of what was going on.
3. I loved fiction writing this year. It helped me get my feelings down on paper. Something that I will do more often in the future is writing my shitty first drafts and using in media res. I will also use things that go on in my life to tell a story with different characters.
4. This year I took pre-calc geography and chemistry. I dreaded taking geography and pre calc because it was so hard to grasp the concepts in those classes. Although I passed geography I still hated it.
5. I have to work on my study techniques and procrastinating. I plan on working on these problems by going someplace that I can not be bothered and creating flash cards.
6. I studied on the first floor library for most of the semesters. I used the dolciani center for my math courses that I took.
7. I learned that I have grown to be stronger and learned to deal with things with my own techniques.
8. I will be attending Hunter College in fall 2011.
9. I want to be successful in college. In five years I see myself beginning medical school. In ten years I hope to graduate from my medical school. In 20 years I hope to have my degrees and be settling into my new job.
10. Stop procrastinating is the good advice that I can give. The best advice that I have is to have faith in what Ms. Defeo and Mr. Froner tell you. I know that almost every teacher judged who we were and hated our class but they didn’t. I'm happy to say that I found adults who truly cared about us as a whole. As I'm sitting here writing this I cried thinking about all the things we’ve been through and how they stuck by our side. They ignored what they heard about the 2011 graduating class and helped us succeed. I can truly say that I look at them as our parents for the 2011 class. They were stern when they needed but also caring and kind, just when everyone else had given up on us. We may not have wanted to hear what they had to say but it was worth the while in the end. So my best advice that I can give is to listen to what they have to say. Thank You So Much for all that you have done for us.
Thank you, Kendra. It has been a pleasure having you in class this year. I have really enjoyed watching you adapt to the college environment this year. I wish you the very best in all your future endeavors.
