Billy walked into Famous Al’s Pizza to meet Sarah, that wretched woman whom wanted a divorce. Sarah told him to meet her at midnight because Billy always worked late. The waitress showed Billy to the seat that Sarah picked out for them. They ordered a triple chocolate, banana – strawberry milkshake with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top, of course it came with whip cream on top and to really finish it a maraschino cherry. Sarah took the cherry off the top of her milkshake. She had walked into Famous Al’s Pizza on a chilly night. She was so excited to tell Billy the great news that she had found out. She had watched as he walked into the Pizzeria and gazed at him as if she hadn’t loved anyone like this. She told him the news and that gaze soon turned to hatred as his response was “but I don’t want kids”. She put the stem of the cherry on the napkin the waitress had given her.
“You know why were here” Sarah said.
“I still don’t understand why you want to do this” Billy said.
“You should know, we don’t share the same views on life like I had thought”
“Is this because of that night?”
“It may be because of that night but that showed me that when presented with a problem your views still don’t change. I can’t stand by you if being with means I have to give up everything I ever wanted in a family. The papers are there, you can sign by the yellow x.”
